Sales for the iPhone 5s look strong, but the troubling news is that Apple has reportedly cut production for the iPhone 5c by 35%. It could be the perception that the iPhone 5c is just a plastic iPhone 5 while the iPhone 5s is seen as a new, improved version of its predecessor. Another reason could be that if somebody is going to lock themselves into a two-year contract with an iPhone, or buy an off-contract phone for a much higher price,then the savings from buying a 5c instead of a 5s is insignificant in the long run. Apple's decisions in the future regarding the 5c model mill be interesting, as it could indicate whether Apple will continue to pair its new models with an inferior version.
