Will Apple come out with a new game-changing iPad model? (Early Indication says probably not)

Apple will be having an event, which is supposedly concentrating on the release of a new iPad models, on October 22nd.  Rumors mention the possibility of an iPad mini with Retina Display.  However, all models will most likely continue the trend of being essentially the same as the previous year's model, just with improved processing speeds, thinner models, and better displays.  Some sites are mentioning the possibility of fingerprint scanners on the iPad 5 models (however that is just speculation as of now).  Basically the models will follow the same old trend, with the addition of a gimmick or two like the fingerprint scanner.  Overall, Apple is not introducing anything that will draw much attention, if history and current rumors are correct.  However, history also indicates that the new iPad models will sell well, despite much innovation between the previous and new models.
