On October 22nd Apple revealed its new iPad model dubbed the "iPad Air." The new tablet weighs in at about a pound and supposedly runs eight times faster than the first generation iPad. An important improvement is the use of dual-antenna wireless and MIMO (multiple-input-multiple-output) technology, which should make using the internet a much smoother and faster experience. Despite the usual hardware improvements, the new model lacked a game-changing new feature to put it head and shoulders above other competitors such as the Galaxy, Kindle, and Nexus tablets, which mostly already had all of these improvements. However, even with specs that are inferior to those of its competitors, the iPad Air will most likely sell well just like every model before it thanks to its loyal customer base and ease of use with iOS.
Apple also announced a new iPad mini with Retina display. Neither the iPad mini nor the iPad Air have the new fingerprint sensor that the iPhone 5s is equipped with.
